Desiree Seghetti Sulpizio
Desiree Seghetti SulpizioVice President of Operations Manager
Desiree is a Spokane native with a deep-rooted passion for food and community building. From an early age, she learned the importance of love and building connections around a table, as she spent time gathered with her family around her Nonna’s kitchen table. These meals provided an opportunity for passionate discussions, learning, and growth, and instilled in Desiree the value of food in providing community and love. Desiree’s passion for Italian cuisine led her to travel to Rome to study Italian food and culture. After graduating from the University of Washington, Desiree returned to Spokane to revitalize Commellini’s, a historical landmark, with her parents. It was on the estate that she married her husband, and they are now proud parents to a young daughter. During her 13 years at the estate, Desiree has earned numerous awards, including being named one of the top 20 professionals in Spokane under 40 years old by the Inland Business Catalyst Magazine. Her belief in the power of food to bring people together is evident in her work, she sees the estate as a gathering place for friends and family, where memories are made and relationships are strengthened.
Frank Comito
Frank Comito Executive Chef
That first boyhood taste of chocolate mousse set Frank Comito’s career trajectory in motion. He worked his way through college as a line cook and discovered his passion for food served him well in the kitchen. During a culinary career spanning more than 30 years and three different states, Chef Comito has worked as a pastry chef, owned his own restaurant, led a fine dining team, worked as a corporate chef and delighted large crowds with everything from hand-shaped sushi to pig roasts on golf courses. While in Portland, he worked with a team of architects to build a gingerbread replica of the St. John’s bridge and traveled to Hong Kong as a guest chef at the Conrad International to highlight PNW cuisine. With an Italian heritage, it’s appropriate that Chef Comito should finish his career at Commellini’s, teaching pasta-making classes and highlighting authentic recipes from the Commellini family. A bio on Comito would not be complete without reference to his dedication to family. He regularly brings the growing group together around the table with some of the best food to be had in Spokane. To this day, his heart still melts over a bowl of properly prepared chocolate mousse.
