Summer Succulent Wedding

Scott & Hannah married on a gorgeous May day by the Estate’s pond-side location at their beautiful summer succulent wedding. 120 of the couple’s closest friends and family watched as Hannah’s mother and father walked her down the aisle to say  ‘I do’. The couple decorated the venue with hues of purple and maroon, candles, mason jars and succulents. Find all about the couple’s favorite moments of their big day.

Proposal in brief?

We hiked up our favorite mountain in CDA. Scott had theme music playing, got down on one knee, and proposed with an origami ring. We rushed back down the mountain to pick out the ring together.

Favorite ceremony moment?

While Hannah was walking down the aisle, she whispered “I love you” to Scott and he whispered back.

Favorite reception moment?

Listening to all of the speeches.

Wedding theme?

Not exactly a theme, but DIY and succulents.

Wedding Dessert?

Carrot cake made by one of Hannah’s bridesmaids.

May 1, 2016 at 5:00 pm.

First dance song?

We chose not to have dancing at our wedding.

Touching Speeches?

Scott’s sister, Audrey, gave a touching speech. She was a shy, 14 year old, and she made the whole room laugh and cry. She expressed how much she loved her brother and how she was unsure of Hannah at first, but finally decided they were perfect for each other.

Splurge?

Yes, especially on Hannah’s dress.

Advice to other couples?

Relax and don’t stress about the little things on your wedding day. You are surrounded by friends and family who love you, so it will be a beautiful day no matter what happens.

Father and mother walked Hannah down the aisle. Scott and Hannah took communion.

Wedding day weather?

Perfect, 72 degrees and sunny. Could not have asked for better weather on May 1.

Honeymoon?

We spent three weeks in Europe. First Venice, then Rome, Paris, and London. Venice was our favorite and even saw the Queen in London!
