Happy Anniversary to Emilio & Desiree Sulpizio! Desiree works here at Commellini Estate and has been a bit bashful about posting her wedding photos. When the office team got a hold of them, we couldn’t help but do a little blog post about it. Their wistful woodsy romance and all of their details were just too sweet not to share…..Desiree and Emilio celebrated their love with their closest friends and family on a gorgeous September day. After a long time doing distance, their dream became a reality as they stepped into their forever together. Their wistful woodsy romance was one that the Estate will never forget and was a beautiful declaration of their love for one another.
How they met:
Northwood Middle School as awkward 7th graders
Occupations:
Desiree: Vice President of Operations at Commellini Estate
Emilio: Physician
First Look
First Impressions:
They were really good friends at first and their relationship didn’t go much further than some AOL instant messages.
First Date:
Movie at Village Center Cinemas
First Dance Song:
Stand By Me- Florence and the Machine Version
Bridal Party
Wedding Desserts:
Italian Cookies made by Desiree’s Grandma (Pizzelle & Biscotti), Chocolate Chip Cookies by Emilio’s Mom, Apple Pie, Italian Fruit Cake, Smore’s Bar, and Gelato shots (served during dancing/late night snack)
Splurge:
Food & Beverage- It is very important for Italian families to make sure there is plenty of food and drink throughout the entire day. We started with a Welcome Wine Bar before the ceremony, did specialty cocktails and appetizers following, had a full bar, full dinner with wine at the tables, dessert bar, roast your own Smore’s bar, and ended the night with tiny scoops of gelato tray-served.
Wedding colors/theme:
Nature/Woodsy was our theme with hints of Oxblood Maroon and Gold
Ceremony
Proposal:
Emilio flew into Spokane to surprise Desiree who thought she was fixing a leaking ceiling in the La Cappanna at the Estate. She was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a letter from Emilio and then was greeted by her future fiance who popped the question. Desiree happily said “yes” and the rest is history!
Reception
Favorite Ceremony moment:
Desiree: The whole thing. I cannot pick, from walking down the aisle with my dad hands shaking, to seeing Emilio waiting for me, to being pronounced for the first time. Start to finish I was crying with joy.
Emilio: When I first saw Desiree and when my groomsmen shared words of wisdom.
Tarantella- we did a traditional Italian folk dance to kick off the dance floor
