Nicole and Doug, got married at Commellini Estate this past September. They used a Modern Rustic Wedding palette with Navy & Burgundy. We love their proposal story and and HAD to share it here….Their friends told them they wanted to go to a winery because they got a babysitter and wanted a fun afternoon out! Little did Nicole know it was all a setup. Doug and one of our friends “disappeared” for awhile while the others kept Nicole entertained. Nicole was then told there was a great table that opened up outside for the group so they all needed to move. As Nicole got closer to where the table was, there was a trail of rose petals on the ground which led around the corner to Doug on one knee with a bouquet of roses in one hand and the ring in another. He was also standing in front of balloons that spelled out Marry Me with music playing in the background! ” Take a peek below for a glimpse of this stunning day! First Look
First Impressions:
Nicole doesn’t remember meeting Doug for the very first time. It was technically at a Spokane Indian’s game with some mutual friends (so that was the very first impression haha) but as soon as she saw him again at the Octoberfest Party a few months later she thought wow that man is handsome, and she couldn’t wait to go talk to him. Doug remembered meeting Nicole the very first time and he knew she was going to be at that party. He thought she was beautiful and wanted another chance to get to know her. Clearly it worked because we have been together ever since that day

Favorite Ceremony Moment:
Reading our own vows to one another. It was so special, and it was so fun how similar they actually were! It really went to show our we have the same values, and we love the same things about one another!
Reception
Favorite Reception moment:
Its hard to pick just one - we loved having all our friends and family together and seeing how happy and how much fun everyone was having!
Surprise Elements:
Michelle, mother of the bride asked Doug to a surprise Mother/Son Dance which was very special
Nontraditional or Traditional Elements?
We maintained pretty traditional elements throughout the whole day. We did a first look, sunset photos but the ceremony and reception was traditional.
Advice to other couples:
Ensure you take time for the two of you to enjoy certain moments. The day goes by so fast and its important to just slow down and be present! Also don’t stress about the timeline - things will naturally flow throughout the day just as it is meant to be!
Honeymoon:
Barbados was the original plan. Due to COVID restrictions on the island we had to postpone and hopefully we will go in January! So we had a long weekend in Walla Walla enjoying the beautiful weather and lots of wine!
